Hearing Tests

Hearing Testing and Evaluations

Choosing the right hearing aid starts with a clear understanding of your unique hearing loss needs. Our advanced testing procedures accurately identify whether or not you have hearing loss and measure the type and severity.

To improve the accuracy of a hearing test, a patient’s previous medical history is required. Hearing specialists are trained to test for hearing-related issues that point to the root cause of the condition. Tests are performed to check the inner, outer and middle ear. Common tests to expect during an initial visit are speech, bone/air conduction or auditory brainstem response (ABR). Additional tests performed are based on the age and current health condition of the patient.

Hearing Aid Services

We Service Your Devices

From hearing aid screening, selection and fittings, to ongoing maintenance and repairs – we offer a wide range of services to keep your hearing aids performing their best.

During the evaluation for hearing aids, a hearing specialist will recommend the most compatible devices. Even with this recommendation, the final choice is up to the patient. Current hearing health plays a role in what device will work best, but it can also be a decision based on your budget and lifestyle habits. A trial period may be available for certain hearing aids. This helps acclimate the user with specific features, or advanced hardware options. After getting a better understanding of what works best, the patient can choose the current hearing device or request something that matches their specific tastes.

Regular care and maintenance will prevent hearing aids from breaking down. Care instructions are provided during the fitting that includes battery information and cleaning tips. When regular home maintenance fails to revive a hearing device, users can always take it in for an in-office repair. Devices that are damaged beyond normal repair have to be shipped off to the manufacturer. In this case, temporary hearing aids can be provided by the office until the originals come back.
